Synchronicity

Hello Shai,

I was browsing online for some ideas for my writing portfolio and I had to check out your site because of the name similarity. Lo and behold there were several other things that resonated as well.

I had my first baby in May of last year. It is a HUGE project and one of the most gratifying and terrifying things I have ever done. With 8 months under my belt I am still continually surprised by the vagaries of motherhood! I hope your foray into this exciting world is going well! I am in my final semester for my BA in Psychology and I will be embarking on graduate school next fall. I also have a strong interest in freelance writing although I have not found a route towards getting published as of yet.

Your children’s book caught my eye because my Mother is very involved in working with the dying both as a nurse and as an energy healer (I am writing this from her email address). I will recommend your book as an addition to her library. Your site and credentials are an inspiration and I am so glad that I stumbled on it this afternoon!

All my best and feel free to use my name for another pen name (;

Sarah

Dear Sarah,

First of all, thank you for your email and for your interest. Your kind words are very uplifting. I do appreciate it a lot.

I’m not sure if your mother can get a hold of my book (Goodbye Grandma), as it was published in Singapore and last I heard it was not being distributed overseas yet. I do hope she can find it, though, in case she finds it useful. In any case, you can also check the publisher’s web site at http://www.giggletykes.com/ .

Thanks for wishing me well with motherhood too. I gave birth last 20th January 2004 and yes, it IS probably the most challenging project I’ve undertaken so far. :)
Anyway, I hope you do find what you need when it comes to preparing your own writing portfolio. I wish you well with your endeavours.

Take care always,

Shai
