		<description>Dear Miss Coggins,

I am a fledgling freelance writer from the Philippines. I am applying as a freelance writer for a new career magazine in Singapore aimed at young professsionals and recent graduates. The company is asking for my per-article rate. You mentioned that you charged between SGD$50 - 150 per article. This rate dates back to what year? Late '90s, early 2000s? I am thinking of charging SGD$100 per 1,000 word article - do you think this is too much given that i am a new writer and the magazine publisher is a start-up company? By the way, while I am an unpublished writer, I have three years' experience as a copy editor for an online financial publication.

I would appreciate any advice. Thanks and more power.

Cheers,
